Capabilities

Four ways we ship.

Different shapes of engagement — same standard for engineering and craft.

Custom software

Web platforms, internal tools, customer-facing products. TypeScript, React, Next.js, Postgres — boring tech that scales.

Learn more

AI automation

LLM-driven workflows, internal agents, document and data pipelines. We build the parts that survive contact with production — not the demo.

Learn more

SaaS development

Zero to product-market-fit. Auth, billing, multi-tenant data, observability — the unsexy half that makes the sexy half work.

Learn more

Enterprise modernisation

Legacy systems carried forward without rewrites you can’t finish. Incremental migration, observability-first, no Big-Bang cutovers.

Process

Four steps. No surprises.

The same shape every engagement, whether two-week sprint or six-month build.

STEP 01 · WEEK 1

Discover

Domain, constraints, success metrics. We learn what good looks like before we open an editor.

STEP 02 · WEEK 2

Design

Architecture and interface, together. No mockups without the code that will back them.

STEP 03 · WEEKS 3–N

Build

Senior engineers, two-week iterations, code review on every line. You see the work as it’s made.

STEP 04 · LAUNCH

Ship

Production-ready, monitored, documented. Handover that engineers will actually read.

Brand

CodeByte

A design-led engineering identity. Built on a byte-grid — every square deliberate, nothing decorative.

Who we are, in pixels.

A premium engineering studio. The brand is the work: clean code, honest scope, and a single mint accent that signals where attention belongs. No gradients for show, no noise — just structure, restraint, and craft.

Studio + products

We don’t just build for clients.

CodeByte is the engineering home. Our sub-brands are products we build, own, and operate ourselves — under the same craft discipline as client work.

Principles

How we think about the work.

01

Senior engineers only

No juniors learning on your codebase. Every line of production code is written by someone who has shipped before.

02

Code review on every line

Every PR reviewed by a second senior engineer before it merges. Always. Not a sometimes-thing.

03

We pick boring tech on purpose

Postgres, not the latest graph database. React, not the framework of the week. Boring tech is the one you can hire for in three years.

04

Honest timelines

We quote what we can ship. If we don’t know yet, we say so and run a discovery sprint to find out — fixed cost, no commitment.

05

Production isn’t a milestone

It’s a starting line. Monitoring, alerts, runbooks, and handover docs are built into the work — not bolted on at the end.

06

Code is for humans first

Compilers don’t care how it reads. The engineer on call at 2am does. We optimise for the person reading it six months from now.

CodeByte shipped what two previous agencies couldn’t. They asked sharper questions, wrote less code, and delivered on the date they quoted. We’ve engaged them three times since.

FAQ

Questions, asked early.

How does an engagement work?
Three modes. Discovery sprint — two weeks, fixed cost, written scope and a build estimate at the end. Fixed-scope build — three to six months, scoped to a milestone. Ongoing retainer — month-to-month, senior engineer time on call. Every relationship starts with discovery; it’s the only honest way to scope work we haven’t done yet.
What’s your pricing approach?
Project-based for fixed-scope work; monthly for retainer. We share day rates on request — we don’t pad them for negotiation. Discovery sprints are a flat fee that converts toward a build engagement if you continue with us.
What’s a typical timeline?
Discovery: two weeks. MVP / first production milestone: six to ten weeks. Production-ready system: three to six months. Enterprise modernisation: six months to a year, in incremental migration tranches. We size every phase before we start it.
Who owns the IP?
You do. Always. Code, IP, design assets, infrastructure config, and credentials transfer in full at handover. We keep nothing.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. Mutual NDA on request, before the first call. We’ll send ours or sign yours — whichever moves faster.
Where are you based, and what hours do you work?
Hadera, Israel (UTC+2/+3). We have meaningful daily overlap with Europe, the US East Coast, and — at the boundaries — US West and East Asia. Async-first; documented decisions; no “ping me when you’re online.”
Do you sub-contract?
Not for core engineering. Senior engineers on staff only. Specialist work (security audit, ML model evaluation, native mobile) goes to vetted partners we’ve worked with before — disclosed up front, billed transparently.
Can we start small?
Yes — a discovery sprint is the right way. Two weeks, fixed cost. You walk away with a written scope and a build estimate whether you continue with us or not.
